Event organizer Primetrade Asia has officially announced on Wednesday that the Japanese rock band BACK-ON will return to the Philippines to headline at The Best of Anime 2019 next month.
This will be the second time that the rock group will perform in the country, after becoming one of the musical guest on Cosplay Mania’s JAM Concert in 2016.
BACK-ON is a Japanese rock band that is well-known for releasing theme songs for Japanese anime and video game titles.
The band was formed in 2002, then released their first album “Adachi Tribe” in 2004. Their first single “Chain” was released in 2006, which was used as the opening theme for the popular anime series Air Gear.
They since have released five albums and 16 singles, with some used in shows like Eyeshield 21, Gundam Build Fighters and Fairy Tail, as well as video games like Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology series and Gundam Breaker series.
The current members are Kenji03 (lead vocals, MC and guitars) and Teeda (rap vocals and MC), while long-time members Gori (bass) and Shu (lead guitars) left the group after their 15th anniversary concert in May 2017.
BACK-ON will join previously announced musical guests, Japanese fantasy idol group STARMARIE and visual kei group UchuSentai:NOIZ, who will also return to the country to perform on the upcoming event.
In addition, the popular pop-culture event will also host Taiwanese cosplayers Chihiro, King and Momo.
Early bird tickets are on sale right now, which are available through SM Tickets outlet nationwide and through their website at smtickets.com.
The Best of Anime 2019 is scheduled to happen on August 31 to September 1, 2019 at the SMX Convention Center – Manila, inside the Mall of Asia complex in Pasay City.
