Philippine concert promoter Wilbros Live has revealed the first set of performers for ANISAMA WORLD 2025 in Manila.
The organizer made the announcement since Friday the first four artists performing for the much-anticipated musical event, which are the Japanese punk rock band ASH DA HERO, Ave Mujica of the popular BanG Dream! franchise, and singers Mayu Maeshima and MindaRyn.
The organizers has also announced that ANISAMA WORLD 2025 in Manila is scheduled to happen on Saturday, June 7, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
The organizer also revealed that four more artists are set to perform in the upcoming event, which would be announced in the coming days.
ASH DA HERO is a Japanese punk rock band formed in 2015, which are composed of Dhalsim (DJ), Wani (drums), Sato (bass), Narukaze (guitars) and ASH (vocals). They have performed the second ending theme song and insert songs in Argonavis from BanG Dream!, as well as the second opening theme song for the sports anime BLUELOCK.
AVE MUJICA is an all-female gothic metal rock group that is part of the BanG Dream! franchise, formed in 2023. The group is composed of Akane Yonezawa (drums), Mei Okada (bass), Rico Sazaki (lead guitar, vocals), Yuki Watase (rhythm guitar) and Kanon Takao (keyboardist), who also portrayed their respective characters in the video game and anime adaptations.
Mayu Maeshima is a Japanese singer who has been active in the industry since 2013. Maeshima become a part of the popular music duo MYTH & ROID where she was the lead vocalist from 2015 to 2017. Two years later, she returned as a solo artist and performed singles, which was used as theme songs for Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World, Overlord and Uncle from Another World, among others.
MindaRyn is a Thai singer who started in 2015 as an anisong cover singer and YouTuber, which led to her being discovered by Japanese music label Lantis and becoming a signed artist. She performed theme songs for popular anime titles By the Grace of the Gods, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest. This will be MindaRyn’s second performance in the Philippines as she previously was one of the musical guests at Cosplay.ph’s JAM Concert at Cosplay Mania 2022.
Animelo Summer Live, also known by the name ANISAMA, is an annual music festival by Japanese media company Dwango and Nippon Cultural Broadcasting started in 2005.
ANISAMA is a three-day musical event, typically held during August, features top Japanese singers and groups performing some of the best and well-known theme music from popular anime shows and franchises. Last year’s performances from popular voice acts and singers, such as Maaya Uchida, Aya Hirano, Aimer, ASCA, fripSide, and several others.
This year, which will be the event’s 20th anniversary, is scheduled to be held at Saitama Super Arena from August 29-31.
The event previously held an overseas spinoff event in Shanghai, which first happen in 2011.
