The anime was directed by Tadao Nagahama and produced by Yoshiyuki Tomino, which was aired on Japanese television from 1977 to 1978, with a total of 40 episodes.
In the Philippines, the anime was first aired on GMA-7 in 1978 in English dubbing, but was discontinued due to “excessive violence” together with several programs.
