Southeast Asian anime channel ANIPLUS Asia has announced on Tuesday they will simulcast the upcoming anime Saint Cecilia & Pastor Lawrence.
The upcoming anime is scheduled to premiere on 13 July, which will air every Thursdays at 01:00am, within two hours after its initial Japanese telecast.
Saint Cecilia & Pastor Lawrence is an upcoming anime adaptation of a Japanese fantasy romantic-comedy manga series, written and illustrated by Hazano Kazutake, which is being published by Kodansha since April 2017.
The manga series was first serialized in Shonen Magazine R online magazine from April 2017 until the magazine’s disbandment in January of this year, which then moved to Monthly Maga Kichi last February.
It currently has 12 tankubon volumes published, while Kodansha USA, the publication’s North American subsidiary, has released 10 English-translated volumes.

Saint Cecilia is beloved by the townspeople—not only is she elegant and composed, she benevolently shares her wisdom with all who seek it. That is, until the last person has left—at which point she becomes totally hopeless! Only Pastor Lawrence, is keeping the Saint put together enough to do her duties… and though she may test him, it’s all in a day’s work!
Saint Cecilia & Pastor Lawrence’s upcoming anime adaptation will be directed by Sumie Noro, who previously worked on Sleepy Princess in Demon Castle television anime and the third part of Toku Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru ~Setsugetsuka~ anime movie series.
Yuka Yamada, who written scripts for two seasons of Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid anime, will handle the upcoming anime’s series composition. Music arrangement will be made by Ruka Kawada, who previously worked in popular anime titles including Is the order a rabbit? and Isekai Quartet.
Character designs will be made by Hiromi Nakagawa, who worked on WATATEN!: an Angel Flew Down to Me anime adaptations, which will be animated by Doga Kobo.
The popular music duo ClariS will perform the opening theme song “Koi Sekai”, while Japanese musician sasanomaly will perform the closing theme song “Toko Siesta.”
The anime was initially scheduled to premiere during this year’s Spring season, but it was delayed to Summer due to production issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Japanese voice cast will be lead by Hime Sawada (Shiina Momiji, 22/7 Ongaku no Jikan mobile game) and Kaito Ishikawa (Takeo Kurata, GATE anime series) as titular characters Cecilia and Laurence, respectively.
They will also be joined by Haruki Ishiya (as Abel), Kanna Nakamura (as Hazelita) and Haruka Tomatsu (as Mel), among others.
Saint Cecilia & Pastor Lawrence will be ANIPLUS Asia’s third simulcast anime title for the Summer 2023 season.
The anime channel previously announced the simulcast airing of The Misfit of Demon King Academy II, which will restart next month after its broadcast of seventh episode was postponed due to production delays caused by the pandemic, and the upcoming anime adaptation of Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout video game.
ANIPLUS Asia is available nationwide through Cignal TV Channel 75 and SatLite Channel 85.
