Starmarie was formed in 2008, described as an idol group focused on fantasy dark theme. The group’s current members are Shino “Shinohamu” Takanori, Nozomi “Nonchan” Kishita, Monya “Monya” Takane, Hiroka “Hiichan” Matsuzaki and Kaede “Kaechan” Watanabe. They perform their songs with intense focus on the lyrics, choreography and performance.
They have performed theme songs for the anime series Onigiri, Cardfight!! Vanguard G and its sequel, Cardfight!! Vanguard G NEXT.
This will be the seventh time the idol group performed in the Philippines, while this will be the sixth time they will perform on the event.
They first performed at The Best of Anime 2013, then followed by BoA Summer Live, together with the visual kei band UchuSentai:NOIZ. The following year, the idol group performed on stage with the Japanese band heidi.
They performed for the first time at Cosplay Mania in 2016 as one of the musical performers of the I Love Anisong-branded concert, which was headlined by Love Live! School idol project seiyuu Riho Iida.
The group returned to The Best of Anime in 2017 to perform as the headline act of the Japanese rock group SPYAIR, while they performed on the event’s main stage last year.
