Hong Kong-based content distributor MediaLink Entertainment Limited has announced on Tuesday that they will stream Iwa-Kakeru! -Sport Climbing Girls- next month.

The upcoming sports anime will premiere on October 11, which will be streamed on their Ani-One YouTube channel every Sundays at 02:00am PHT.

Sport climbing is a sport that makes use of both the body and the brain to climb walls. Kasahara Konomi, a master at puzzles, just happens to discover her school’s climbing wall, and it looks almost like a colorful sort of puzzle in her eyes. Iwa-Kakeru! -Sport Climbing Girls- is an upcoming anime adaptation of a Japanese sports manga series by Ryudai Ishizaka, which was serialized in Cygames’ Cycomi digital magazine from December 2017 to May 2019 with a total of four volumes.

The manga series received a sequel, Iwa-Kakeru!! Try a new climbing, which is being published on the same digital magazine since June 2019, and currently has four volumes.

 

The upcoming sports anime will be directed by Tetsuro Amino, who previously worked in the horror anime Shiki, while Chaika: The Coffin Princess scriptwriter Touko Machida will handle its series composition.

Yoshihiro Watanabe, who worked in the Haganai anime series, will handle character design of the upcoming series, which will be produced by anime studio BLADE.

Sumire Uesaka, who voiced “Anastasia” in the popular musical idol franchise The [email protected] Cinderella Girls, will play the lead character “Konomi Kasahara”.

 

Iwa-Kakeru! -Sport Climbing Girls- will be the fifth simulcast anime title of MediaLink Entertainment for the Autumn 2020 season, which will be streamed on their Ani-One YouTube channel.

The company previously announced the simulcast streaming of Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon, I’m Standing on a Million Lives, Higurashi: When They Cry – NEW, By the Grace of the Gods starting next month.
