Southeast Asian anime channel ANIMAX Asia has revealed on their website on Monday that the anime adaptation of the popular franchise Yo-Kai Watch will air on the channel this month.
The anime series will start on April 24, airing every Monday to Friday nights at 06:00pm (05:00pm JKT/BKK).
The anime channel previously announced that Yo-kai Watch Shadowside, which has a more mature and darker take on the popular franchise, will air on the channel within this year.
Anime Pilipinas has learned that the sequel may premiere on the channel this June.
Yo-kai Watch is an anime adaptation of a role-playing video game series developed by Nintendo and published by Level-5, which was first released for the Nintendo 3DS platform in Japan on July 2013 and North America in November 2015.
It is being considered in Japan to be the biggest game franchise in Japan after the popular Pokémon game and media franchise.
Aside from anime series, the franchise also has several manga adaptations and two theatrical films.
Cartoon Network, as well as its now-defunct sister channel Toonami Asia, previously aired the anime adaptation in English dubbing in 2015. The English-dubbed version is currently available on Netflix.
Philippine terrestrial broadcaster GMA Network previously aired the anime series in Filipino dubbing in March 2016.
ANIMAX Asia is available on SKYcable, Cignal TV, SatLite and GSat, as well as several provincial cable providers nationwide. Check your local listings.
