ANIPLUS Asia to simulcast ‘Boogiepop and Others’ anime this Winter 2019

ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept. director Natsume and scriptwriter Suzuki reunited to work on the upcoming series, produced by Madhouse.

Southeast Asian anime channel ANIPLUS Asia has announced on Monday that the upcoming anime series Boogiepop and Others this Winter 2019 season.

The anime will have a special one-hour premiere on Friday, January 4, at 11:00pm (10:00pm JKT/BKK).

New episodes will air every Friday nights at 11:00pm (10:00pm JKT/BKK), three hours after its initial Japanese broadcast.

Encore telecast every Saturday nights at 08:00pm (07:00pm JKT/BKK).

Boogiepop and Others is an upcoming anime adaptation of a light novel series, written by Kouhei Kadono and illustrated by Kouji Ogata, which was published by MediaWorks in February 1998.

MediaWorks is now part of the entity known as ASCII Media Works, which is owned by the Japanese media conglomerate Kadokawa Corporation. 

 

ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept. director Shingo Natsume and scriptwriter Tomohiro Suzuki reunited to work on the upcoming series.

Hidehiko Sawada, who previously worked in several anime shows including Paradise Kiss and Parasyte -the Maxim-, adapted Ogata’s original character designs, which will be produced by Madhouse.

The Japanese voice cast will be lead by Aoi Yuki (“Tsuyu Asui”, My Hero Academia) as “Boogiepop” and Saori Onishi (“Aiz Wallenstein”, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) as “Nagi Kirima”.

 

Boogiepop and Others will be the fourth simulcast title for ANIPLUS Asia this Winter 2019 season.

The anime channel previously announced the simulcast airings of The Promised Neverland starting January 11, B-PROJECT -Zeccho*Emotion- starting January 12, and Kemono Friends 2 starting January 8.

 

ANIPLUS Asia is available in the Philippines on SKYcable Channel 139 (Metro Manila, CAMANAVA, Rizal, Bulacan and Laguna), GSat Channel 66 in High-definition (Nationwide), and in selected provincial cable providers around the country.
