Kemono Friends is a Japanese media franchise created by Mine Yoshizaki, who also created the popular comedy manga Sgt. Keroro.
The project began as a now-defunct mobile game developed by Nexon, which ran from March 2015 to December 2016. The game, ironically, closed down before the first anime series premiered in January 2017.
Since the airing of the first series, the franchise has since expanded to stage plays, new mobile games and several music albums released, as well as different collaborations with brands and zoos in Japan.
ANIPLUS Asia previously aired the first anime series in July 2017.
The upcoming series will be directed by Ryuichi Kimura, who previously worked on the idol series Aikatsu!, while Penguin no Mondai scriptwriter Takuya Matsumoto will handle the series composition.
Tomason, the anime studio that produced the anime series Folktales from Japan, will produce the new series.
The Japanese voice cast will be lead by Yuka Ozaki as “Serval”, Riko Koike as “Caracal”, and Yui Ishikawa as “Kyururu”.
Kemono Friends 2 will be the third simulcast title for ANIPLUS Asia this Winter 2019 season.
The anime channel previously announced the simulcast airing of The Promised Wonderland, premiering on January 11, and B-PROJECT -Zeccho*Emotion-, premiering on January 12.
ANIPLUS Asia is available in the Philippines on SKYcable Channel 139 (Metro Manila, CAMANAVA, Rizal, Bulacan and Laguna), GSat Channel 66 in High-definition (Nationwide), and in selected provincial cable providers around the country.
