Jujutsu Kaisen 0: The Movie is the anime film adaptation of the manga series Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School, which served as the prequel story to the main series.

The manga is created by Gege Akutami, which was published in Shueisha’s Jump GIGA magazine from April to July 2017 and had released a compilation volume.

The staff for the television anime series, including director Sung Hoo Park, scriptwriter Hiroshi Seko and character designer Tadashi Hiramatsu, returned to work on the anime film prequel.

Japanese voice cast will be lead by Megumi Ogata, who previously voiced “Shinji Ikari” in the Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise, as “Yuta Okkotsu”, with Yuichi Nakamura (“Gray Fullbuster”, Fairy Tail series) returining to voice a younger “Satoru Gojo”.

Hong Kong-based content distributor MediaLink Entertainment Limited had acquired the license for Jujutsu Kaisen in the Asian region during the Autumn 2020 season. The popular anime series was streamed the same day as Japan on several platforms, including iQIYI and Netflix.

POPTV, the subscription video on-demand service by August Media Holdings, has added the anime series to their lineup last January, which was streamed for the first time in Tagalog dubbing.

Last February, the cast and staff of the anime series have announced that they will have a Second Season, which is set to make its premiere in 2023.
