Subscription video on-demand service POPTV has revealed on Wednesday that they will stream the highly-popular supernatural anime Jujutsu Kaisen.
The streaming service announced that the popular anime series will be added to their lineup on Wednesday, January 26, which will be dubbed in Tagalog for the very first time.
A representative of the streaming service has revealed to Anime Pilipinas they plan to drop all 24 episodes on the said date, stating that POPTV subscribers “prefer to watch the anime shows all at-once” instead of the usual weekly format.

Jujutsu Kaisen is an anime adaptation of a Japanese supernatural manga series by Gege Akutami, which is being published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since March 2018 and currently has 15 volumes.
The anime adaptation is directed by Sung Hoo Park, who worked in the Japanese anime adaptation of the Korean manhwa series The God of High School, while Attack on Titan anime scriptwriter Hiroshi Seko handled series composition.
Tadahi Hiramasu, who worked on the horror anime Parasyte -the maxim-, handled character designs, which was produced by anime studio MAPPA.
Junya Enoki, who voiced “Takeru Takaishi” in the Digimon Adventure tri. anime movie series, will play the lead character “Yuji Itadori”.
He will also be joined by Yuma Uchida (“Kyo Soma”, Fruits Basket 2019 adaptation) as “Megumi Fushiguro”, Asami Seto (“Raphtalia”, The Rising of the Shield Hero) as “Nobara Kugisaki”, Yuichi Nakamura (“Gray Fullbuster”, Fairy Tail series) as “Satoru Gojo” and Junichi Suwabe (“Shinta Fukuda”, Bakuman. series) as “Ryomen Sukuna”.
Hong Kong-based content distributor MediaLink Entertainment Limited has acquired the license of Jujutsu Kaisen in the Asian region during the Autumn 2020 season. The anime series has been streamed on several platforms in the region, including iQIYI and Netflix.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0, which serves as a prequel story of the main manga series, was given an anime film adaptation, and has been released in Japanese cinemas last month.
The anime film opened in December 24, which earned JP¥2,694,128,150 (about PHP1.2 billion) in its first three days and topped the Japanese box office for its opening weekend, becoming the 80th highest earning film in its history after just 18 days.
POPTV is a subscription video on-demand streaming service of Singapore-based media company August Media Holdings, which is known as one of the companies that produced the Filipino-made anime series Barangay 143.
