Chinese video streaming platform iQIYI has announced on Wednesday that they will simulcast Attack on Titan: The Final Season anime this month.

The upcoming season of the popular anime franchise is scheduled to premiere this December 7, which will stream every Monday mornings at 08:00am PHT.

 

Attack on Titan is an anime adaptation of the popular post-apocalyptic manga series by Hajime Isayama, which is being serialized in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine since September 2009 and currently has 32 volumes.

The popular manga can also be read in English language through Crunchyroll’s digital manga service and BookWalker.

The fourth and final season of the popular anime series will now be produced by anime studio MAPPA, which will be directed by Yuichiro Hayashi, who previously worked on Garo The Animation and Kakegurui, with Banana Fish chief animation director Tomohiro Kishi will handle character designs.

Hiroshi Seko, who handled the scripts of previous seasons, will return to handle the same role in the final season. Music composer Hiroyuki Sawano will also return, where he will be joined by Kohta Yamamoto, who previously worked in anime shows like DIVE!! and Ulysses: Jeanne d’Arc and the Alchemist Knight.

The main voice cast from previous seasons, including Yuuki Kaji (as Eren Jaeger), Yui Ishikawa (as Mikasa Ackerman) and Marina Inoue (as Armin Arlelt), will return to portray their respective roles.

 

Southeast Asian anime channel ANIPLUS Asia has aired the first season of Attack on Titan when the channel was launched in November 2013.

The anime channel has since aired the subsequent seasons on a simulcast basis, starting with the second season in Spring 2017, then the third season’s first part in Autumn 2018 and followed by the second part in Spring 2019.

The anime channel has also released Attack on Titan: Chronicle, the anime compilation film recapping the events of the previous three seasons of the popular anime series, in cinemas in Thailand earlier this month. The anime film is also set to be released in cinemas in Singapore starting October 30.

The anime channel also announced that the final season of the popular series will also be airing on a simulcast basis, starting December 7.

 

iQIYI is a video streaming service, founded by the Chinese technology company Baidu, which was launched in Mainland China in April 2010.

Since August 2019, the service has expanded to Southeast Asia, including the Philippines, streaming Chinese dramas and animation, Korean dramas and, more recently, Japanese anime in multiple languages.
