Pan-regional animation channel Toonami Asia has announced on Monday that the latest Dragon Ball anime series, Dragon Ball Super, will premiere on Saturday, January 21.

The network also announced that a special ‘sneak preview’ of the first episode will air on Saturday, December 17, and they have posted a video clip on YouTube in English dubbing.

The California-based production company Bang Zoom! Entertainment has confirmed on Instagram that they will be in charge of the English-dubbed version of the Dragon Ball Super for Toonami Asia.

This will be the first time the anime series will be heard in English dubbing, but there is no word at the moment regarding the English dubbing cast.

Dragon Ball Super is the sequel to the Dragon Ball Z anime series, which features a new storyline after 18 years.

The anime is being produced by Toei Animation, which premiered in July 2015 and airs weekly on Fuji TV in Japan.

North American anime distributor Funimation Entertainment previously announced that they have acquired the anime series, which will also feature their own English dubbing.
