
Hong Kong-based content distributor Medialink Entertainment has announced on Monday they will stream the Second Season of In Another World with My Smartphone anime this Spring 2023.
The upcoming season is set to premiere on 03 April, streaming every Mondays at 11:30pm PHT, just an hour after its Japanese telecast, which will be available on the company’s Ani-One Asia channel on YouTube, as well as other streaming platforms in the region.
After dying as a result of God’s mistake, Touya finds himself in another world, where he begins his second life. His only possessions are the body that God gave back to him and a smartphone that works even in this world. As he meets all kinds of new people and forges new friendships, he ends up learning the secret to this world. He inherits the legacy of an ancient civilization and works together with the kings of some very laid-back countries on his carefree travels through this new world. (Synopsis from Medialink)

In Another World with My Smartphone is an anime adaptation of a novel series, written by Patora Fuyuhara, which started initially as a self-published web novel in 2013.
The series was picked up by Japanese publisher Hobby Japan and became a light novel series in May 2015, under their HJ Novels imprint, with The Familiar of Zero light novel illustrator Eiji Usatsuka joining the series. The light novel currently has 27 volumes published.
The series also received a manga adaptation, published by Kadokawa Shoten on their Comp Ace magazine since November 2016, which currently has 12 volumes.
The second season of In Another World with My Smartphone television anime series will be featuring a brand new staff and studio.
Yoshiaki Iwasaki, who previously worked on titles like Hayate the Combat Butler!! and The Familiar of Zero, will work as the upcoming season’s director, replacing Takeyuki Nanase.
The Case Study of Vanitas scriptwriter Deko Akao will handle the series composition, replacing Natsuko Takahashi, while Chinatsu Kameyama, who previously worked on Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! anime series, will now handle character designs. The animation will be produced by J.C. Staff.
The previous season’s voice cast will return to the upcoming season, including Katsumi Fukuhara as the lead character “Touya Mochizuki”.
He will be joined by new cast members Miyu Takagi (Fantasia Yusano, When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace anime) as “Lucia Rea Regulus”, Yuu Serizawa (Yumemi Yumemite, Kakegurui anime) as “Hildegard Minas Lestia” and Miyu Kubota (Medusa, Dropkick on My Devil! anime) as “Sakura”.
Southeast Asian anime channel ANIMAX Asia previously aired the first season of In Another World with My Smartphone in May 2018.
Medialink Entertainment previously announced that they have licensed several anime titles as part of their Spring 2023 lineup, such as Mashle: Magic and Muscles and the Second Season of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury.
