VivaMax, the newest video streaming service by Philippine entertainment company Viva Entertainment, has added Makoto Shinkai’s anime films your name. and Weathering with You to their streaming lineup.

Local film distributor Pioneer Films has confirmed to Anime Pilipinas that they are partnering with the entertainment company to distribute some of their content to the new streaming platform.

 

The streaming platform also added several Japanese live-action films to their lineup, which was previously aired on their Tagalog-dubbed Foreign movie channel TMC, such as Bakuman., L-DK -Living Together- and Hentai Kamen.

The three live-action movies can be streamed in both Japanese audio and Tagalog dubbing, which can also be viewed with English subtitles.

Anime Pilipinas has reached out to Viva Entertainment for comment.

your name. is a Japanese anime film written and directed by Makoto Shinkai, known for anime films like Voices of a Distant Star, 5 Centimeters Per Second and The Garden of Words.

The highly-popular anime film is based on the novel with the same name, also written by Shinkai, which was published by Kadokawa in June 2016.

The anime film’s character designs was handled by Masashi Ando and Masayoshi Tanaka, who both previously worked in the drama anime Bunny Drop, which was produced by CoMix Wave Films and distributed by TOHO.

The anime film was released in Japanese cinemas in August 2016, while Pioneer Films released the film in Philippine cinemas in December the same year.

Moritaka Mashiro doesn’t want to follow in the path of his uncle who worked as a manga artist, but ultimately died because of exhaustion. Moritaka Mashiro figures he will graduate from school and work at an office. Things change though when falls in love with a girl at school. Bakuman. is a Japanese live-action film based on the popular slice-of-life manga, written by Tsugumi Ohba and illustrated by Takeshi Obata, the same team that is also responsible for the popular manga series Death Note.

The manga ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from August 2008 to April 2012, which has a total of 20 volumes.

 

The live-action film was directed by Hitoshi One and produced by TOHO, which starred Takeru Satoh (as Moritaka Mashiro), Ryunosuke Kamiki (as Akito Takagi) and Nana Komatsu (as Miho Azuki).

Viva Entertainment screened the live-action film in Tagalog dubbed format during the Eiga Sai: Japanese Film Festival in July 2017.

L-DK -Living Together- is the first live-action film adaptation based on the romantic comedy manga series by Ayu Watanabe, which was serialized in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Friend magazine from February 2009 to August 2017. The manga has a total of 24 volumes.

 

The live action adaptation was directed by Yasuhiro Kawamura, who also directed Nodame Cantabile live-action movies, while Gokusen: The Movie writer Yuko Matsuda handled the screenplay.

Viva Entertainment aired the live-action film on TMC in Tagalog dubbing on February 2017.

Hentai Kamen (HK) is the first live-action movie adaptation based on the manga series Kyukyoku!! Hentai Kamen, created by Keishu Ando, which was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from September 1992 to September 1993. The manga has a total of six (6) chapters.

 

The live-action movie was written and directed by Yuichi Fukuda, who also worked on the live-action drama series Super Salaryman Mr. Saenai. The theme song for the film, “Emotions”, was performed by the band Man with a Mission.

Viva Entertainment aired the live-action film on TMC in Tagalog dubbing on May 2017.

 

VivaMax is an over-the-top video streaming service owned by Philippine entertainment company Viva Entertainment, which was launched on December 15, 2020 on web browser platforms and on smartphone devices a week later.

The streaming platform mainly contain films from Viva Entertainment’s library, but also include several acquired international films from South Korea, China, Japan and Hollywood.
