RED BY HBO, the Asian movie and entertainment channel of HBO Asia, has announced that they will premiere the Japanese live-action film adaptation of Make a Bow and Kiss manga series.
The live-action film will premiere on Friday, April 5, at 10:00pm (09:00pm JKT/VIE).
An Kishimoto, a graduating high school student who has spent the past 6 years of her life immersed in her love of archery, finds herself needing to find someone new to take over the presidency of her school club. She decides on Mikami Yota, who possesses raw talent and skill – and, unbeknownst to her, a secret love for her. (Synopsis from HBO Asia)
Make a Bow and Kiss, also known by its Japanese title Ichirei shite, Kiss, is a live-action film adaptation of a manga series by Yakko Kaga, which ran in Shogakukan’s Betsucomi magazine from September 2012 to January 2015, with a total of seven (7) volumes.
The live-action film was directed by Takeshi Furusawa, who also directed live-action film adaptations of popular manga titles like Another and ReLIFE, while Yukiyasu Asano adapted Kaga’s original story.
The film was produced by Polygon Magic and distributed by Tokyu Recreation, which was released in Japanese cinemas on November 2017.
Elaiza Ikeda, who previously portrayed the role of “Rena Kariu” in the live-action film adaptation of ReLIFE, played the lead character “An Kishimoto”, and Masaki Nakao, who portrayed “Yamato Kazakiri (Zyuoh Eagle)” in the tokusatsu series Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger, played the character “Yota Mikami”.
