
Filipino-language anime channel HEROtv has announced on Friday that two anime titles are set to premiere this month of December, which are the second season of Haikyuu!! and The Labyrinth of Grisaia.

Haikyuu!! is an anime adaptation of a Japanese shonen manga series, written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate, which is being serialized by Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since February 2012. The manga currently has 24 volumes.
The anime adaptation is directed by Susumu Mitsunaka, who also worked on two seasons of Big Windup!, while Silver Spoon scriptwriter Taku Kishimoto handled both writing and arrangements of the scripts. Character designs were made by Takahiro Kishida, which was produced by Production I.G.
The first season of Haikyuu!! first premiered on terrestrial network ABS-CBN in April 2015 but was abruptly removed after a week, which garnered criticism from anime fans, but was re-scheduled as a weekly show. The second season has yet to premiere on the main network.
HEROtv, which is the terrestrial network’s sister channel, eventually aired the anime series in June of 2015.
Haikyuu!! Second Season will premiere on Friday, December 23.

The Labyrinth of Grisaia is an anime television film adaptation of the adult visual novel The Fruits of Grisaia’s sequel Le Labyrinthe de la Grisaia, which was developed by Front Wing and released on Windows platform in May 2013.
The anime movie adaptation was directed by Tensho and scripts handled by Hideyuki Kurata, who both worked on previous anime adaptations. Akio Watanabe also handled character designs, which was produced by anime studio 8 bit.
The Labyrinth of Grisaia premieres on Sunday, December 25 (Christmas Day).
The anime channel is also set to bring back the anime classic Samurai X (Rurouni Kenshin), which will be airing on Philippine television for the first time in 10 years.
The popular anime will also feature a new Filipino-dubbed version, different from its previous airings on ABS-CBN and the now-defunct Qtv Channel 11.
Samurai X premieres on Thursday, December 29.
