As previously reported, Pan-regional anime channel ANIMAX Asia has announced their first simulcast title for Spring 2016 last month, which is Twin Star Exorcist, set to premiere on Wednesday, April 6.

The anime channel has announced last week that the anime adaptation of the Shonen Jump manga My Hero Academia is set to air on the channel the same day as Japan.

What makes a hero? Is it simply someone with superpowers?

In a world where 80% of the population possess superpowers known as ‘Quirks’, Izuku Midoriya is part of the minority who was not born with any powers. Despite that, it has always be his dream to meet the greatest hero of all time, All Might. His life changes when he meets All Might for the first time and joins the hero-training high school in Japan. Will he be able to match up with his elite classmates and become the ultimate hero?

My Hero Academia is an upcoming anime adaptation of a Japanese manga series by Kohei Horikoshi, which is being serialized on Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since July 2014. The manga series currently has eight (8) volumes.

Gundam Build Fighters director Kenji Nagasaki and scriptwriter Yosuke Kuroda reunites to work on the upcoming anime series, while Yoshihiko Umakoshi, who worked on titles like Berserk and Magical Doremi, handles the anime’s character designs. The anime is produced by the anime studio BONES.

The Japanese voice cast are lead by Daiki Yamashita (“Toya”, Log Horizon) as “Izuku Midoriya”, Ayane Sakura (“Nao Tomori”, Charlotte) as “Ochaco Uraraka”, Kaito Ishikawa (“Genos”, One-Punch Man) as “Tenya Iida”, Yuuki Kaji (“Kenma Kozume”, Haikyu!!) as “Shoto Todoroki” and Kenta Miyake (“Mohammed Abdul”, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders) as “All Might”.

My Hero Academia premieres on Sunday, April 3, airing every Sunday nights at 08:00pm SIN/MNL (07:00pm JKT). Same day as Japan.

Rokuro comes from a family of exorcists, but he would rather become anything else than follow his family’s trade! One day, his competitive spirit is ignited when a girl named Benio, also from a prestigious exorcist family, appears before him and he decides to embrace his powers for good. However, their rivalry gets complicated when they realise that they are the destined “Twin Star Exorcists“ who are fated to get married and give birth to the ultimate spiritual warrior who will eliminate all the evil in the world!

Twin Star Exorcists is an anime adaptation of a Japanese supernatural manga series by Yoshiaki Sukeno, which is being serialized by Shueisha on their Jump Squaremagazine since November 2013. The manga currently has seven (7) volumes.

The anime adaptation is directed by Tomohisa Taguchi, who worked on several Personaanime adaptations, while scripts are handled by Naruhisa Arakawa, who worked on anime titles like Maoyu and Outbreak Company. Character designs are made by Kikuto Sadakata, who also handled designs for Corpse Princess and Princess Resurrection,  which will be produced by Pierrot.

Twin Star Exorcist premieres on Wednesday, April 6, airing every Wednesday nights at 10:00pm SIN/PHL (09:00pm JKT). Same day as Japan.

 

Aside from the two simulcast titles, ANIMAX Asia is also set to premiere Snow White with the Red Hair, an addition to Cross Ange: Rondo of Angel and Dragon, which was announced during the SKY Alive event last month.

Shirayuki is a beautiful girl with a highly uncommon feature – her head of striking, red hair. Attracted by this, Prince Raji of Tanbarun forcibly claims her as his concubine. Unwilling to submit to him, she cuts her long hair short and runs away. En route, she meets and befriends Zen, the prince of the neighbouring kingdom Clarines, and they travel there together. By Zen’s side, Shirayuki embarks on her new life as a court pharmacist, but Raji continues to pursue her… Can Shirayuki find happiness and love in this new life?

Snow White with the Red Hair is an anime adaptation of a Japanese shoujo manga series by Sorata Akizuki, which is currently being serialized on Hakuensha’s LaLa magazine. The manga started on August 2006 and currently has 15 volumes.

The anime adaptation was directed by Masahiro Ando, who also directed the anime Hanasaku Iroha, while Mysterious Girlfriend X scriptwriter Deko Akao handled the same role. Kumiko Takahashi, who is the chief animation director of Ouran High School Host Club, handled character designs, which is produced by anime studio BONES.

Snow White with the Red Hair premieres on April 14, airing every Wednesday and Thursday nights at 08:00pm SIN/PHL (07:00pm JKT), two episodes back-to-back.

 

CROSS Ange: Rondo of Angel and Dragon

Angelise is the princess of the Empire of Misurugi where the people live in peace using a technology known as “Mana”. However, it turns out that she is a Norma, someone who cannot use Mana and an outcast in society. With the terrible revelation, she is exiled to a secluded island where other Normas live their lives piloting weapons called Para-mails and hunting down creatures called DRAGONs. Can she return to her old life? Or will she accept her new fate? The story of one girl and her determination begins here.

Cross Ange: Rondo of Angel and Dragon is a fantasy mecha anime produced by the renowned anime studio Sunrise, which was directed by Yoshiharu Asino, who worked on several Detective Conan adaptations, while the series composition was handled by Tatsuto Higuchi, who is also the scriptwriter for the Phi-Brain anime adaptations.

Character designs are made by Sayaka Ono, who also worked on several Sunrise titles like Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and Valvrave the Liberator.

The provocative yet very popular anime series was voiced by a powerhouse line-up, lead by Nana Mizuki as “Angelise “Ange” Ikaluga Misurugi”, together with Ami Koshimizu, Eri Kitamura, Nao Toyama, Yui Horie and Mamoru Miyano among others.

Cross Ange: Rondo of Angel and Dragon premieres on Tuesday, April 19, airing every Monday and Tuesday nights at 10:00pm SIN/PHL (09:00pm JKT), two episodes back-to-back.
