Philippine Pay-TV provider SKYcable has revealed that the anime films Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms and Weathering With You will premiere on ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Channel this Holy Week.
The company also revealed on their electronic programme guide (EPG) that the popular anime film your name. will also be making its return to Philippine television on Good Friday.
Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms premieres on Maundy Thursday, April 1, at 06:00am, while Weathering With You premieres on Black Saturday, April 3, at 06:00am.
your name. will air on Good Friday, April 2, at 06:00pm.

Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms is a Japanese anime film written and directed by Mari Okada, who handled scripts of popular anime shows such as Hanasaku Iroha and anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, which also serves as her directorial debut.
Yuriko Ishii, who handled character designs for Persona -trinity soul- and Another, is the chief animation director for the movie. The movie is the first standalone film production by anime studio P.A. Works, which was released in Japanese cinemas in February 2018.
Philippine film distributor Pioneer Films released the anime film in cinemas in September of the same year.

your name. is a Japanese anime film written and directed by Makoto Shinkai, known for anime films like Voices of a Distant Star, 5 Centimeters Per Second and The Garden of Words.
The highly-popular anime film is based on the novel with the same name, also written by Shinkai, which was published by Kadokawa in June 2016.
The anime film’s character designs was handled by Masashi Ando and Masayoshi Tanaka, who both previously worked in the drama anime Bunny Drop, which was produced by CoMix Wave Films and distributed by TOHO.
The anime film was released in Japanese cinemas in August 2016, while Pioneer Films released the film in Philippine cinemas in December the same year.

your name. made its television premiere in Tagalog dubbing on then-terrestrial broadcaster ABS-CBN in February 2018, which was also made available through their iWant TV streaming service (now known as iWant TFC) within a day after its television airing. The film has since been removed from the streaming service’s lineup since last year.
The anime film was also aired on the terrestrial broadcaster’s now-defunct sister channels YeY and Asianovela Channel in August 2018 and April 2019, respectively.
Last year, the broadcaster re-aired the anime film as part of its Holy Week special programming.
Weathering With You

Weathering with You is a Japanese anime film produced by CoMix Wave Films, with Makoto Shinkai credited as its creator, director and screenplay writer.
The anime film’s character designs was handled by Masashi Ando and Masayoshi Tanaka, who both previously worked in the drama anime Bunny Drop.
Japanese rock band RADWIMPS performed the anime film’s theme song “Is There Still Anything That Love Can Do?”.
The anime film was released in Japanese cinemas in July 2019, while Pioneer Films released the film in Philippine cinemas the following month.

First year of high school, summer. Hodaka runs away from his home on an outlying island to come to Tokyo. He falls into poverty quickly, but after many days of solitude, at last finds work as a freelance writer for a dubious occult magazine.

This will be the second time that ABS-CBN will be airing Tagalog-dubbed Japanese anime films during the Holy Week season.
This would also be the first time that the network will commemorating the solemn holiday almost a year after the expiration of their broadcast franchise, which resulted to the closure of their nationwide free-to-air television and radio stations.
