Southeast Asian anime channel ANIPLUS Asia has announced on Tuesday that they will air Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki anime on a simulcast basis this Winter 2021.
The upcoming romantic comedy anime is scheduled to premiere on January 8, airing every Friday nights at 08:30pm PHT, within 30 minutes after its initial Japanese telecast.

Tomozaki is one of the best gamers in Japan, and in his opinion, the game of real life is one of the worst. No clear-cut rules for success, horribly balanced, and nothing makes sense. But then he meets a gamer who’s just as good as him, and she offers to teach him a few exploits. (Synopsis from Anime News Network)
Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki is an upcoming anime adaptation of a romantic comedy light novel series, written by Yūki Yaku and illustrated by Fly, which is being published by Shogakukan under its Gagaga Bunko imprint since May 2016 and currently has eight volumes.
The series also inspired a manga adaptation, published in Square Enix’s Monthly Gangan Joker magazine since December 2017, as well as a manga spinoff that started last July.
The upcoming anime series will be directed by Shinsuke Yanagi, who previously worked in And you thought there is never a girl online? romantic comedy anime, while CLANNAD scriptwriter Fumihiko Shimo will handle the series composition.
Akane Yano, who also worked on High School Prodigies Have It Easy Even In Another World anime series, will adapt Fly’s original character designs, which will be produced by anime studio project No.9.
Gen Sato, who voiced “Rintaro Futsu” in the sports anime Stars Align, will portray the lead male character “Fumiya Tomozaki”, while Hisako Kanemoto, who voiced “Natsuki Minamiya” in the Strike the Blood anime series, will portray the lead female character “Aoi Hinami”.
Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki will be ANIPLUS Asia’s first simulcast anime title for the Winter 2021 season, which will be in addition to Attack on Titan Final Season that has been airing since December 7.
The anime channel will announce more simulcast titles in the coming days.
ANIPLUS Asia is available in the Philippines on SKYcable Channel 139 in Metro Manila, CAMANAVA, Rizal, Bulacan and Laguna, and on Cignal TV Channel 75 starting January 4, 2021.
