Southeast Asian anime channel ANIPLUS Asia has announced on Wednesday that they will air the second season of Fire Force on a simulcast basis this Summer 2020 season.
The upcoming season has no premiere date yet, but it is scheduled to premiere in July.

Fire Force is an anime adaptation of a Japanese sci-fi manga series by Atsushi Akubo, which is being published in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since September 2015 and currently has 23 volumes, as of May 2020.
Akubo is also known for creating the popular dark fantasy manga series Soul Eater.
Tatsuma Minamikawa, who directed the Fire Force’s 12th episode, will direct the second season, replacing Yuki Yase, as well as handle the scripts. Minamikawa previously directed Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry anime film in 2017.
Hideko Morioka will return to handle character designs, but will be chief animation directors with Yumenosuke Tokuda, which will be produced by David Production.
The Japanese voice cast from the first season will reprise their roles in the upcoming season, including Gakuto Kajiwara as “Shinra Kusakabe”.
They will be joined by new character Kasugatani Inka, which will be portrayed by Miyuri Shimabukuro, who previously voiced characters such as “Mangetsu Kohinata” of Granbelm and “Carole” of Carole & Tuesday.
Fire Force’s first season was aired on Japanese television from July to December last year, which has a total of 12 episodes.
ANIPLUS Asia had revealed the anime will be one of its simulcast titles for the Summer 2019 season, but did not pushed through due to undisclosed reasons.
The anime channel instead announced its television premiere on May 1, airing every Fridays at 10:00pm PHT, two episodes back-to-back.
ANIPLUS Asia is available in the Philippines on SKYcable Channel 139 in Metro Manila, CAMANAVA, Rizal, Bulacan and Laguna, G Sat Channel 74, and in select provincial cable providers around the country. Also available on their respective over-the-top streaming services.
