Philippine multimedia conglomerate ABS-CBN has added the anime films A Silent Voice and Fireworks, Should We See It from the Side or the Bottom? on their over-the-top streaming service iWant.

The two anime films were added to the streaming platform within hours after its television airing on the company’s flagship free-to-air channel on Good Friday and Black Saturday, respectively.

The service is streaming the Tagalog-dubbed broadcast version of the two films, where some scenes may had been cut due to time constraints.

The story revolves around Nishimiya Shoko, a grade school student who has impaired hearing. She transfers into a new school, where she is bullied by her classmates, especially Ishida Shouya. It gets to the point where she transfers to another school and as a result, Shouya is ostracized and bullied himself, with no friends to speak to and no plans for the future. Years later, he sets himself on a path to redemption. (Synopsis from Pioneer Films)

A Silent Voice: The Movie is an anime film based on the seven-chapter manga series by Yoshitoki Oima, which was published in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine from August 2013 to November 2014.

 

Naoko Yamada, who worked on anime titles like K-ON! and Sound! Euphonium, directed the anime film, while the scripts were handled by Reiko Yoshida, who also worked on the anime film Tamako Love Story.

Character designs was made by Futoshi Nishiya, which was produced by anime studio Kyoto Animation.

One day during summer vacation, a group of boys try to view a fireworks display from the town lighthouse to see if they look round or flat when viewed from the side. Fireworks, Should We See it from the Side or the Bottom? is a 2017 anime film adaptation based on a 1993 live-action television series of the same name, which was written and directed by Shunji Iwai.

 

Akiyuki Sinbo, who previously directed Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Nisekoi, is the chief director of the anime film, and co-directs with Nobuyuki Takeuchi, while Bakuman. live-action movie director Hitoshi One handled the screenplay.

Akio Watanabe, who worked on the popular Monogatari anime series, handled the film’s character designs, which was produced by anime studio SHAFT.

Makoto Shinkai’s highly-popular 2016 anime film your name., which was removed from the streaming platform early this year, is once again part of the platform’s lineup but the film is now available exclusively to Premium subscribers.

The company previously added the anime film in February 2018, back when the service is still known as iWant TV, within 24 hours after its television premiere.
