ODEX to screen “Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Maji Love Kingdom” anime film on October 31

The anime film adaptation of the popular music idol franchise premiered in Japanese cinemas last June.

As previously reported, Singapore-based anime licensor ODEX has announced that the anime film adaptation of Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ franchise will be released in cinemas in Southeast Asia, including the Philippines.

The company revealed during Cosplay Mania 2019 on Saturday that Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Maji Love Kingdom is set to be screened in select Philippine cinemas starting Thursday, October 31.

SM Cinema, the cinema partner of the anime licensor in the Philippines, has also listed the anime film on their website.

Unlike One Piece Stampede, which was released on a Friday, the anime film is being released on October 31 possibly to avoid conflicts with the All Saint’s Day holiday on November 1.

ODEX and SM Cinema has yet to make an official announcement regarding the anime film’s Philippine release date, as well as the possible advance screenings.

Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Maji Love Kingdom is an anime film adaptation of the visual novel novel series Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ by game developer Broccoli, which started as a video game for PlayStation Portable in 2010 and has expanded to several titles.

Takeshi Furuta, who directed the franchise’s fourth television anime series, has returned to as the chief director with episode director Tomoka Nagaoka.

Elements Garden returned to work on the film’s music composition with Mamoru Miyano performing the film’s theme song “Encore”, and Maki Fujioka also returned to handle character designs, which was produced by A-1 Pictures.

The Japanese cast members of the popular franchise, including Takuma Terashima (as “Otoya Ittoki”), Mamoru Miyano (as “Tokiya Ichinose”) and Junichi Suwabe (as “Ren Jinguji”), returned to reprise their respective roles.

Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Maji Love Kingdom anime film premiered in Japanese cinemas last June 14.

 

Southeast Asian anime channel ANIPLUS Asia previously aired the four Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ television anime adaptations on a simulcast basis.

The latest adaptation, Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Maji Love Legend Star, aired hours after its Japanese telecast in 2016.
