Philippine film distributor Pioneer Films has confirmed on their Facebook page on Wednesday that they plan to release the upcoming anime film Tenki no Ko: Weathering with You in Philippine cinemas.
The film distributor previously hinted earlier this month that they are pursuing the distribution rights of Makoto Shinkai’s latest film.
As of press time, the distributor has not mentioned a target release date for the anime film.
The official website of the upcoming anime film has also released on Wednesday a new teaser video and visual, as well as additional cast members.
The second teaser, which you can see on top of this article, also gave a preview of the song “Grand Escape”, performed by RADWIMPS featuring Japanese singer and actress Toko Miura.
The additional cast members include Shun Oguri, Tsubasa Honda, Chieko Baisho, Sakura Kiryu, Sei Hiraizumi, and Yuuki Kaiji.

Shinkai is credited as the creator, director and screenwriter of Weathering with You, while Masayoshi Tanaka, who also worked in the highly-popular anime film your name., will be in charge of character designs.
Atsushi Tamura, who worked in Studio Ghibli’s award-winning anime film Spirited Away, will be the animation director, and The Garden of Words art director Hiroshi Takiguchi will be in charge of the upcoming film’s art direction, which will be produced by CoMix Wave Films and distributed by TOHO.
RADWIMPS will be composing five vocal songs for the upcoming film, as well as 27 instrumental music.
The anime film will star Nana Mori, who had recently played “Runa Horibe” in the highly-popular live-action series Mr. Hiiragi’s Homeroom, will portray the character “Hina Amano” and Kotaro Daigo as “Hokoda Morishima”.
Weathering with You will be released in Japanese cinemas on July 19, while the famed director also confirmed that the upcoming film will get a worldwide release.
North American film distributor GKIDS already licensed the upcoming film, where they plan to hold an “awards qualifying” theatrical release later this year, with a wider release in early 2020.
Thai film distributor Major Films also announced that the upcoming film will be screened in Thailand on November 7, which was the first Asian country outside Japan to announce an official release date.
