ANIPLUS Asia to simulcast “PERSONA5 the Animation: Stars and Ours” anime special

The anime channel previously aired the anime's first television special last January.

Southeast Asian anime channel ANIPLUS Asia has announced on Monday that simulcast the second television anime special of PERSONA5 the Animation.

PERSONA5 the Animation: Stars and Ours will premiere on Saturday, March 23, at 10:00pm (09:00pm JKT/BKK), within three hours after its initial Japanese telecast.

Ren Amamiya is about to enter his second year after transferring to Shujin Academy in Tokyo. Following a particular incident, his Persona awakens, and together with his friends they form the “Phantom Thieves of Hearts” to reform hearts of corrupt adults by stealing the source of their distorted desires.

Meanwhile, bizarre and inexplicable crimes have been popping up one after another… Living an ordinary high school life in Tokyo during the day, the group maneuvers the metropolitan city as Phantom Thieves after hours.

PERSONA5 the Animation is an anime series based on the critically-acclaimed and best-selling video game by P-Studio, which was released in Japan on September 2016 by game publisher Altus.

PERSONA5 is the sixth installment of the Persona video game series, which is a part of the Megami Tensei franchise.

 

The anime was directed by Masashi Ishima, who also directed the From the New World anime series, while Sket Dance scriptwriter Shinichi Inotsume handled the series composition.

Persona 3 the Movie animation director Tomomi Ishikawa adapted Shigenori Soejime’s original character design, which was produced by A-1 Pictures.

Japanese voice cast of the video games reunited to portray their roles in the anime series, including Jun Fukuyama as “Ren Amamiya”, Mamoru Miyano as “Ryuji Sakamoto”, and Nana Mizuki as “Anne Takamaki”.

 

ANIPLUS Asia aired PERSONA5 the Animation on a simulcast basis from April to September last year.

The anime channel also aired the anime’s first television special, Dark Sun, on a simulcast basis last January.
