Southeast Asian anime channel ANIPLUS Asia has announced in a television advertisement on Sunday that Persona 5 the Animation will be one of the channel’s simulcast titles this Spring 2018.
The teaser did not specify the upcoming show’s premiere date and time, but the show set to premiere in Japan this Saturday, April 7.
Persona 5 the Animation is an upcoming anime adaptation based on the hugely-popular and critically-acclaimed video game by P-Studio, which was released in Japan on September 2016 by game publisher Altus. Persona 5 is the sixth installment of the Persona video game series, which is a part of the Megami Tensei franchise.
The upcoming show will be directed by Masashi Ishima, who also directed the From the New World anime series, while Sket Dance scriptwriter Shinichi Inotsume will handle the series composition.
Persona 3 the Movie animation director Tomomi Ishikawa will adapt Shigenori Soejima’s original character designs, which will be produced by A-1 Pictures.
Several voice cast from the game will reprise their role in the upcoming anime:

- Haruka Tomatsu as “Haru Okumura”
- Soichiro Hoshi as “Goro Akechi”
North American anime licensor Aniplex of America has released a trailer for the upcoming anime last February.
