Digimon Adventure tri. is originally a Japanese anime film series, which served as the direct sequel to first two Digimon Adventure anime television series, produced by Toei Animation. The film series coincides with the franchise’s 15th anniversary.
Keitaro Motonaga, who worked on Get Backers and Date A Live, directed the film series while Chihayafuru scriptwriter Yuuko Kakihara handled the series composition and Cencoroll director Atsuya Uki handled character designs.
The movie was released in Japanese theaters in six parts, featuring the first film in November 2015 and the final film in May this year. Outside Japan, the movie was streamed on streaming services like Crunchyroll and AnimeLab, as they are released in Japan, with each part split into four or five episodes.
Digimon Adventure was first aired on terrestrial broadcaster ABS-CBN in June 2000, while Digimon Adventure 02 was first aired in July of the following year. Both shows were re-aired several times on the now-defunct anime channel HEROtv, as well as the digital terrestrial channel YeY.
The channel also announced in the advertisement that the popular sci-fi anime My Hero Academia will be making its return on the channel this month.
The show will air Every Monday to Friday nights at 08:00pm, replacing Samurai X OVA.
The popular series premiered on the channel last May, which was followed by the second season later the same month. The franchise’s movie adaptation, My Hero Academia the Movie: Two Heroes, has started screening in local cinemas last Wednesday, October 31.
YeY is one of the digital terrestrial sub-channels of ABS-CBN, and the second animation channel of the network after the now-defunct anime channel HEROtv.
Previous anime titles also aired on the digital TV channel include Kirarin Revolution, Rental Magica, Tears to Tiara, and Ace of Diamond.
YeY can be seen on digital terrestrial TV exclusively on ABS-CBN TVplus set-top boxes, as well as SKYcable Channel 01 (Metro Manila, CAMANAVA / Rizal, Cavite, and Laguna) and SKYdirect Channel 03.
