The series follows Team Estrella, a group of young and talented Beywheelers residing at Destection City. The peace of that place is threatened when a group of aggressive wheelers calling themselves Dominators attempts to take over the Beywheelz world. Unable to accept such a reign of terror, Team Estrella opposes the Dominators and ends up fighting them in the Judgement Bey tournament, which is to decide the fate of the world they live in, as well as the fate of an unknown, undiscovered one. (Synopsis from Wikipedia)

BeyWheelz is the spin-off of the popular Beyblade series, commissioned by Canadian animation studio Nelvana and produced by Japanese animation studio SynergySP.

The anime was directed by Naoki Hishikawa, who worked on several Yu-Gi-Oh! anime adaptations, while scripts were handled by Katsumi Hasegawa and Masashi Kubota, who both worked as scriptwriters on several Beyblade anime series, and character designs were handled by Yoshihiro Nagamori.

Beywheelz was one of the anime shows aired on “Anime Siege”, which is the Japanese anime block of the now-defunct animation channel Toonami Asia.

The time block ran from 2016 until the channel’s closure in Late March of this year.

YeY is one of the digital terrestrial sub-channels of ABS-CBN, and the second animation channel of the network after the now-defunct anime channel HEROtv.

Previous anime titles also aired on the digital TV channel include Kirarin Revolution, Rental Magica, Tears to Tiara, and Ace of Diamond.

YeY can be seen on digital terrestrial TV exclusively on ABS-CBN TVplus set-top boxes, as well as SKYcable Channel 01 (Metro Manila, CAMANAVA / Rizal, Cavite, and Laguna) and SKYdirect Channel 03.
