Local events organizer Primetrade Asia has announced on Monday that the Japanese rock band SPYAIR is set to perform at The Best of Anime 2017.

The event is set to happen on September 9-10 at the SMX Convention Center, inside the Mall of Asia complex in Pasay City.

Aside from their performance, the popular band is also set to have a Meet-and-Greet session, with details to be announced at a later date.

SPYAIR is a Japanese rock band formed in 2005, currently composed by UZ in guitars, MOMIKEN in bass, KENTA in drums, and IKE in vocals.

The band is known for singing theme songs for anime series like Bleach, Gintama, Samurai Flamenco, Haikyuu!!, and most recently, Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron Blooded Orphans.

The band had recently released its newest single, “Be With”, last March. Available in digital format on Apple’s iTunes.

In 2014, SPYAIR goes on a hiatus after vocalist IKE was diagnosed with acute bronchitis, vocal chord polyps and acute inflammation of the vocal chords.

The band eventually resumed its activities a couple of months later.

The Best of Anime 2017 is the eighth edition of the popular anime event, but this will be the first year the event will not be co-located with Manila International Book Fair, which is happening a week later. Both events are organized by Primetrade Asia.

The organizers have earlier posted teasers for the event.

Details regarding the upcoming guests, as well as the ticket prices for both the concert and meet-and-greet sessions, will be announced at a later date.
