Pan-regional anime channel ANIMAX Asia has announced that the music idol anime Shounen Hollywood -Holly Stage of 49- is set to premiere this May 05.
Set in a theater called Hollywood Tokyo in Harajuku, the five members of the idol group “Shonen Hollywood” are training hard so that they may succeed as a top idol group one day. As they embark on this adventure of a lifetime, they will realise what it means to be a real idol. (Synopsis from ANIMAX Asia)
Shounen Hollywood is a Japanese media franchise created by Ikuyo Hashiguchi, which started as a novel serialized by Shogakukan, under the Shogakukan Bunko imprint, in July 2012.
The music idol franchise now has two anime adaptations, which was also written by Hashiguchi, where the storyline took place 15 years after the light novel.
The anime adaptation was directed by Toshimasa Koroyanagi, who also directed the popular romance anime Say “I love you.”, while its music was handled by Tetsuji Hayashi, and character designs was made by Kei Tsuchiya. The anime adaptation were produced by Zexcs, and both adaptations has 13 episodes each.
The Japanese voice cast are lead by Daiki Yamashita (Toya, Log Horizon) as Kira Saeki, Kensho Ono (Tetsuya Kuroko, Kuroko’s Basketball) as Shun Maiyama, Ryota Ohsaka (Haruto Tokishima, Valvrave the Liberator) as Kakeru Kazami, Shouta Aoi (Ai Mikaze, Uta no Prince-sama – Maji Love 2000%) as Daiki Tomii, and Tetsuya Kakihara (Natsu Dragneel, Fairy Tail) as Ikuma Amaki.
SHONEN HOLLYWOOD -Holly Stage for 49- premieres on May 5, airing two episodes back-to-back every Monday and Tuesday nights at 08:00pm PHT, with encore every Saturdays at 05:30pm to 07:30pm PHT.
Two popular anime titles are also set to return to ANIMAX this month, which are Hunter × Hunter and Parasyte -the maxim-.
All three seasons of Hunter × Hunter will air starting Thursday, May 21, airing two episodes back-to-back every Monday to Friday nights at 06:30pm to 07:30pm PHT.
Parasyte -the maxim- returns on May 25, airing two episodes back-to-back Every Monday to Tuesday nights at 10:00pm PHT.
