Filipino-language anime channel HEROtv has officially announced on their Facebook page that the fifth installment of their much-awaited event, HERO Face Off: The Ultimate Cosplay Battle, will happen on Saturday, June 06, at the Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
As previously reported, the organizers has yet to announce the details of the event, including the different cosplay competitions that it is set to take place.
ABS-CBN 360, the parent network’s sales & marketing arm, previously announced the date and venue of HERO Face Off 2015 last April in an event page on social networking site Facebook, which was shared by the anime channel’s Facebook page, but it was also removed the same day.
The event page also included the tagline, “Are you ready for Hero Face Off 2015?”
HERO Face Off: The Ultimate Cosplay Battle has been the channel’s flagship event ever since the channel was launched ten years ago.
In 2010, HERO launched a new event, called “HERO Face Off”, where different cosplayers competed for the right to represent the country, first in the Singapore Toys, Games and Comics Convention (STGCC), then later in the World Cosplay Summit (WCS), when the Philippines snagged the right to hold the preliminaries for the said global cosplay tilt and participate as an “observer nation”.
The event, in recent years, has been held in conjunction with different major events likeToycon in 2013, and recently, with The Best of Anime in 2014, in which the winners were given the chance to witness Anime Festival Asia 2014 last December in Singapore.
