The Dangers in My Heart, also known by its Japanese Title “Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu”, is an upcoming anime adaptation of a romantic comedy manga series by Norio Sakurai, which is being serialized by Akita Shoten since 2018 and published on their Manga Cross online magazine. As of March 2023, the manga currently has eight volumes.

The manga had gotten several recognitions, including ranking fourth (4th) in Next Manga Award’s web manga category in 2019. The following year, the manga was also ranked fourth (4th) in Tsutaya Comic Award’s Next Break category, as well as being nominated in Manga Taisho.

Seven Seas Entertainment, which licensed the manga series in English, has described the series:

Kyotaro Ichikawa, a boy barely clinging to the bottom rung of his school’s social ladder, secretly believes he’s the tortured lead in some psychological thriller. He spends his days dreaming up ways to disrupt his classmates’ peaceful lives and pining after Anna Yamada, the class idol. But Kyotaro’s not nearly the troubled teen he pretends to be…and it turns out Anna’s a bit odd herself!

The Dangers in My Heart will be directed by Hiroaki Akagi, who previously worked on Teasing Master Takagi-san’s television and anime film adaptations, while Sound! Euphonium scriptwriter Jukki Hanada will handle the series composition.

Character designs for the series will be handled by Masato Katsusama, who worked on the second season of the popular romantic comedy anime The Quintessential Quintuplets, which will be produced by Shin-Ei Animation.

The Japanese voice cast will be lead by Hina Yomiya, who voiced Shinju Inui in the comedy anime My Dress-Up Darling, as “Anna Yamada” and Shun Horie, who voiced Kazuya Kinoshita in the romantic comedy anime Rent-A-Girlfriend, as “Kyotaro Ichikawa.”

The anime is scheduled to make its television premiere on Japanese television on 01 April.
