Singapore-based anime licensor ODEX has revealed in a Faceboabook post on Wednesday that they will hold a “Fan’s Screening” event for One Piece Stampede next month.

The anime film’s advanced screening is set to take place on Saturday, September 7. Full details regarding the upcoming screening, including the ticket price and freebies for ticket holders, may be announced in the coming days.

As previously reported, the anime film’s general screening is scheduled for Friday, September 20, in select SM Cinema branches nationwide.

The world’s greatest exposition of the pirates, by the pirates, for the pirates – the Pirates Festival. Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hat Crew receive an invitation from its host Buena Festa who is known as the Master of Festivities. They arrive to find a venue packed with glamorous pavilions and many pirates including the ones from the Worst Generation. The place is electric.

The highlight of the festival is a hunt for the treasure left behind by Roger, the King of the Pirates. A scramble for the treasure by pirates who wish to seize it and win fame starts! However, behind the curtain during this festival of fired-up pirates, Festa, also known as the Worst-Ever War Instigator, sets death traps all around the place and even the Marine aims to catch all the pirates in one fell swoop.

As the scramble for the treasure which will decide supremacy in the new era heats up, Douglas Bullet, formerly of the Roger Pirates, who were once called the Demon Heir, suddenly joins the event. He stands in Luffy and his crew’s way as a formidable threat!

The frenzied pirates, the Marine that is trying to settle things down, and on top of that, the Seven Warlords of the Sea and even the Revolutionary Army enter the fray. One Piece Stampede is an film adaptation based on the popular manga series by Eiichiro Oda, which has been running on Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since July 1997 and currently has 93 volumes.

The popular manga is being published in English on a simulpub basis through digital manga services like Viz Media’s Shonen Jump and Shueisha’s Manga Plus.

This is the popular franchise’s 14th animated feature film, following One Piece Film: Gold which was screened in 2016.

 

The anime film was directed by Takashi Otsuka, who also worked on several Pretty Cure television and film adaptations.

He also handled the scripts together with Atsuhiro Tomioka, who previously worked in the first two seasons of Fairy Tail, while Masayuki Sato returned to handle character designs, which was produced by Toei Animation.

 

The Japanese voice casts from previous adaptations, including Mayumi Tanaka (as Monkey D. Luffy) and Akemi Okamura (as Nami), returned to portray their respective roles in the upcoming anime film.

They are also be joined by former HKT48 member Rino Sashihara as “Ann”, Japanese television host Ryota Yamasato as “Donald Moderate and Japanese actor Yusuke Santamaria as “Buena Festa”.

 

One Piece Stampede opened in Japanese cinemas last August 9, where it sold about 356,052 tickets for 429 theater screens in 352 locations on its opening day, making the film the largest attendance record in Japanese box office so far this year.

The anime film eventually sold about 1,254,372 tickets on its first four days of screening, which is a long holiday weekend, earning a total of JP¥1,646,321,500 (about PHP812 million), and placing the film at #1 of the Japanese box office.
