
Singapore-based anime licensor ODEX has announced last week that they have acquired the anime film One Piece: Stampede, which is the 14th animated feature film of the popular franchise.
The licensor plans to screen the upcoming anime film in Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

The world’s greatest exposition of the pirates, by the pirates, for the pirates – the Pirates Festival. The highlight of the festival is a hunt for the treasure left behind by Roger, the King of the Pirates. A scramble for the treasure by pirates who wish to seize it and win fame starts! However, behind the curtain during this festival of fired-up pirates, Festa, also known as the Worst-Ever War Instigator, sets death traps all around the place and even the Marine aims to catch all the pirates in one fell swoop.
As the scramble for the treasure which will decide supremacy in the new era heats up, Douglas Bullet, formerly of the Roger Pirates, who were once called the Demon Heir, suddenly joins the event. He stands in Luffy and his crew’s way as a formidable threat!
The frenzied pirates, the Marine that is trying to settle things down, and on top of that, the Seven Warlords of the Sea and even the Revolutionary Army enter the fray. One Piece Stampede is an upcoming film adaptation based on the popular manga series by Eiichiro Oda, which has been running on Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since July 1997 and currently has 92 volumes.
The popular manga is being published in English on a simulpub basis through digital manga services like Viz Media’s Shonen Jump and Shueisha’s Manga Plus.
This will be the popular franchise’s 14th animated feature film, follows One Piece Film: Gold screened in 2016, which is set to premiere in Japanese cinemas on August 9.
The upcoming film will be directed by Takashi Otsuka, who also worked on several Pretty Cure television and film adaptations.
He will also handle the scripts together with Atsuhiro Tomioka, who previously worked in the first two seasons of Fairy Tail, while Masayuki Sato will return to handle character designs, which will be produced by Toei Animation.
The Japanese voice casts from previous adaptations, including Mayumi Tanaka (as Monkey D. Luffy) and Akemi Okamura (as Nami), will return to portray their respective roles in the upcoming anime film.
They will also be joined by HKT48 member Rino Sashihara as “Ann”, Nippon TV host Ryota Yamasato as “Donald Moderate” and Japanese actor Yusuke Santamaria as “Buena Festa”.
