Philippine theater chain SM Cinema has listed on Thursday the anime film Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Arrow of the Orion on their website.
The theater chain has listed the date May 11, 2019, which may be the anime film’s possible screening date.
A representative of ANIPLUS Asia has told Anime Pilipinas they are still finalizing details of the upcoming anime film screening, and they ask Filipino anime fans and moviegoers to “stay tuned”.
Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Arrow of the Orion is an anime film based on the light novel series, written by Fujino Oomori and illustrated by Suzuhito Yasuda, which is being published by SB Creative under the GA Bunko imprint since January 2013. The light novel series currently has 14 volumes.
Katsushi Sakurabi, who previously worked in Gunparade March and Alice & Zoroku, directed the anime film, while Shigeki Kimoto returned to handle character designs, which was produced by J.C. Staff. Light novel author Oomori handled the film’s scripts.
DanMachi’s anime film was released in 43 theaters in Japan last February 15.
Inori Minase (as Hestia) and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (as Bell Cranell), was joined by singer and voice actor Maaya Sakamoto as “Artemis”.
ANIPLUS Asia had aired the DanMachi anime series on a simulcast basis in Spring of 2015. The series also made its free-to-air premiere on terrestrial broadcaster TV5 in May 2017, which was dubbed in Filipino.
The anime channel also aired Sword Oratoria: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? On the Side, which is a spin-off of the original series, in Spring 2017.
