Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Arrow of the Orion is an upcoming anime film based on the light novel series, written by Fujino Oomori and illustrated by Suzuhito Yasuda, which is being published by SB Creative under the GA Bunko imprint since January 2013. The light novel series currently has 14 volumes.
Katsushi Sakurabi, who previously worked in Gunparade March and Alice & Zoroku, will direct the anime film, while Shigeki Kimoto returns to handle the character designs, which will be produced by J.C. Staff. Light novel creator Oomori will handle the film’s scripts.
Inori Minase (as Hestia) and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (as Bell Cranell), will be joined by the singer and voice actor Maaya Sakamoto as “Artemis”.
The anime film will be released in Japanese cinemas on Friday, February 15.
Southeast Asian anime channel ANIPLUS Asia had aired the DanMachi anime series on a simulcast basis in Spring 2015. The series also made its free-to-air premiere on terrestrial broadcaster TV5 in May 2017, which was dubbed in Filipino.
The anime channel also aired Sword Oratoria: Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? On the Side, which is a spin-off of the original series, in Spring 2017.
