Southeast Asian anime channel ANIMAX Asia may not by physically present at the recently-concluded C3AFA Singapore 2017, but they still made their presence felt by announcing two of their upcoming titles.
The romantic comedy anime A Sister’s All You Need and romance anime Just Because! are set to air on the channel.
ANIMAX Asia have yet to announce the premiere date for both shows, but it is expected to air in 2018.
A Sister’s All You Need
妹さえいればいい。
Itsuki is a novelist and “modern day Pygmalion” who works day in and day out to create the ultimate younger sister. He’s surrounded by various other characters: a beautiful genius writer who loves him, his big-sisterly classmate from college, a fellow male writer, a sadistic tax accountant, and his editor. They’re all looked after by Itsuki’s perfect younger step-brother, Chihiro, who has a serious secret. (Synopsis from Anime News Network)
A Sister’s All You Need, also known by its Japanese title Imouto Sae Ireba Ii., is an anime adaptation of a light novel series written by Yomi Hirasaka and illustrated by Kantoku. Hirasaka also created the popular comedy novel Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai, while Kantoku is the illustrator for the The Hentai Prince and the Stony Cat novel.
The novel is being published by Shogakukan under its Gagaga Bunko imprint since March 2015, which currently has eight volumes.
The anime adaptation is being directed by Shin Oonuma, who also directed Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya anime adaptations, while Hirasaka directly handles the scripts. Girlish Number character designer Sumie Kinoshita adapted Kantoku’s original character designs, which is being produced by anime studio SILVER LINK.
The Japanese voice cast are lead by Yusuke Kobayashi (“Arslan”, The Heroic Legend of Arslan) as “Itsuki Hashima”, Nozomi Yamamoto (“Yukimura Kusunoki”, Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai) as “Chihiro Hashima”, and Hisako Kanemoto (“Erina Nakiri”, Food Wars! The Third Plate) as “Nayuta Kani”.
Just Because!
For a group of high school seniors, a chance reunion with a transfer student will change the course of their final year. Eita Izumi has come back to his hometown after four years and encounters some unlikely acquaintances: Haruto Soma, Eita’s childhood friend; Ena Komiya, the photography student who witnesses Eita and Haruto’s reunion; Mio Natsume, whose feelings for her middle school crush still linger; and Hazuki Morikawa, a girl who seems uninterested in romantic relationships. Just Because! is an original anime series produced by PINE JAM, which was created The Pet Girl of Sakurasou light novel author Hajime Kamoshida and Tawawa on Monday creator Kiseki Himura.
The series is directed by Atsushi Kobayashi, who worked on Girls und Panzer anime adaptations, while Kamoshida directly handles the series composition, and Hiroyuki Yoshiii will once again work on Himura’s original character designs.
