Yey, the digital terrestrial channel of ABS-CBN, has announced on Tuesday that the popular comedy anime Himouto! Umaru-chan will have its terrestrial premiere on the channel next month.
The anime is set to air this April 2, which airs Every Saturday and Sunday nights at 07:30pm.
Umaru is Taihei’s little sister who boasts beautiful looks as well as prowess in both school and sports. However, she has a certain secret. She’s a “Himouto” a little sister who is proper in public but lazy at home. (Synopsis from Anime News Network)
Himouto! Umaru-chan is an anime adaptation of a manga series by Sankaku Head, which is being published by Shueisha in their Weekly Young Jump magazine since March 2013. The manga currently has nine (9) volumes.
The anime adaptation was directed by Masahiko Ohta, who previously directed Minami-ke, while the series composition was handled by Takashi Aoshima, who also worked in the If Her Flag Breaks anime adaptation. Character designs was made by Aya Takano, which was produced by Doga Kobo.
Himouto! Umaru-chan has made its Philippine television premiere on the anime channel HEROtv in August last year.
HEROtv is a sister channel of Yey, both owned and operated by Philippine broadcasting network ABS-CBN.
