Pan-regional anime channel ANIPLUS Asia has announced that it is set to simulcast the upcoming slice-of-life anime Sweetness and Lightning starting this July, airing immediately after the Japanese telecast.

Having lost his wife, math teacher Kouhei Inuzuka is doing his best to raise his young daughter Tsumugi as a single father. He’s pretty bad at cooking and doesn’t have a huge appetite to begin with, but chance brings his little family and one of his students, Kotori Iida, together for homemade adventures. With those three cooks in the kitchen, it’s no wonder this dinner table drama is so delicious.
Sweetness and Lightning is an upcoming anime adaptation of a manga series by Gido Amagakure, which is being serialized on Kodansha’s Good! Afternoon magazine since September 2013. The manga currently has six (6) volumes.
The anime adaptation is directed by Tarou Iwasaki, who also directed the One Week Friends anime series, while Yowamushi Pedal scriptwriter Mitsutaka Hirota is handling the show’s composition. Hiroki Harada, who previously worked in titles like Cross Ange: Rondo of Angel and Dragon and Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal, handles the character designs, which is being produced by TMS Entertainment.
The Japanese voice cast are lead by Yuichi Nakamura (“Graham Aker”, Mobile Suit Gundam 00) as “Kouhei Inuzuka”, Rina Endo (“Hina Kubota”, Barakamon) as “Tsumugi Inuzuka” and Saori Hayami (“Blue Mountain Aoyama”, Is the order a Rabbit?) as “Kotori Iida”.
Sweetness and Lightning premieres on July 5, airing every Tuesday late-nights at 01:50am (12:50am JKT/BKK), immediately after the Japanese telecast. Same day encore telecast at 11:00pm (10:00pm JKT/BKK).
Aside from the simulcast airing of Sweetness and Lightning, the anime channel is also set to have a special marathon of Bungo Stray Dogs and Kiznaiver in conjunction with the airing of it’s final episode.
Bungo Stray Dogs end-of-series marathon happens on Saturday, July 2, starting from 06:00pm (05:00pm JKT/BKK).
Kiznaiver end-of-series marathon happens on Sunday, July 3, starting from 06:00pm (05:00pm JKT/BKK).
The simulcast airing of the fantasy adventure anime Endride continues this month, with new episodes airing every Saturday nights at 11:00pm (10:00pm JKT/BKK).
