Team Ban×Kai, composed of Edward Amparado and Steven Vivero, took home third place in this year’s Asian Regional Cosplay Championships at Anime Festival Asia 2015 in Singapore last Friday.

The duo, who portrayed the characters Oda Nobunaga and Mitsuhide Akechi from the popular video game Samurai Warriors, has won SGD200 (about PHP6675) and a One-year membership to the AFA World rewards program.

Team Indonesia, represented by Team Daikon Sky, were crowned as the winners in the regional cosplay competition for the second time in a row. The team portayed characters from the video game series Devil May Cry for their skit.

Team Thailand took home the second place trophy with their cosplay skit from Megaman X.

In a previous interview, both Amparado and Vivero are elated to represent the country in the regional cosplay competition, being their sixth time to compete in Cosplay Mania’s Cosplay Tournament of Champions (ToRCh).

Sabi ko nga parang (We were like in) cloud nine… We did not really expect, so we just gave our best and gave something new to the audience. We’re really happy to be able to showcase [our talents] to the crowd and to the judges.” Vivero said.

“Thanks, at least I’m so happy…. With all the years na [sumali] kami, this is the [time] na nag-effort kami, as in dugo at pawis talaga, so thank you sa mga nag-support sa amin,” (With all the years that we joined, this is the time that we really made an effort, through our blood, sweat and tears, so thanks to everyone who supported us)  Amparado added.

Last year, Team Kara Tempan, also from Indonesia scored the victory in the competition, while Team Kanor Cubes, composed of Abraham Enriquez and John Louise Betita, won Second place.

UPDATE: The third placers for AFA’s Asian Regional Cosplay Championships won SGD200 or about PHP6675, not PHP668. We apologize for the error.
