Primetrade Asia, the organizer of the highly-popular Best of Anime (BoA) event, has announced on Friday the initial guests line-up for the upcoming event, which is set to happen in September.
Taiwanese cosplayers HYKO & HANE*ANN, and Singaporean cosplayer Tousa Bao are set to attend the event for the first time.
HYKO is a Taiwanese cosplayer since 1998. She became famous for her cosplay from GACKT and Angel Sanctuary, and also done cosplay from the recent anime titles Uta no Prince Sama and Free! Iwatobi Swim Club.
She is currently ranked Number 2 on Cure’s WorldCosplay.net rankings.
HANE*ANN (水桜羽杏) is a cosplayer from Taiwan who is well-known for portraying characters from the highly-popular franchise Love Live! School idol project, but also portrayed other characters from popular shows like Guilty Crown, Chobits and Your Lie in April.
Tousa Bao is a well-known cosplayer from the Republic of Singapore, who currently Number 159 (as of July 27, 2015) in the WorldCosplay.net rankings. He portrayed characters from popular shonen animes like Kuroko’s Basketball, Free! Iwatobi Swim Club and Haikyuu!!, as well as other popular titles like Gurren Lagann and Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.
Aside from cosplaying, he also handles his own make-up and props making.
The organizers also announced that Japanese visual kei band UchuSentai:NOIZ and musician Joe Inoue will return to the country to perform on the event once more.
UchuSentai:NOIZ is a Japanese visual kei band who became well-known in the Philippine pop-culture scene for making a rendition of the song “Narda” of the popular Filipino rockband Kamikazee.
This year will be their fourth time in the Philippines, performing on The Best of Anime in 2012 and 2013, as well as BoA Summer Live in 2014. They also performed in Pulp Live’s Bazooka Rocks event in 2013.
Joe Inoue is a popular musician, who is well-known for singing Naruto Shippuden’s fourth opening theme song “Closer”, as well as his crazy antics on his Facebook page. He was previously the host of Japanese broadcast NHK’s popular music show J-Melo.
This will be his fourth visit in the Philippines, where he first performed on 2013 J-pop Anime Singing Contest followed by another performance on BoA the same year. He also returned to BoA last year, where he hosted and performed on the event.
The organizers tell Anime Pilipinas that there will be another announcement regarding the event coming very soon, which they also posted on their Facebook page.
The Best of Anime 2015 is happening on September 19-20 at Function Rooms 2-4 of the SMX Convention Center – Manila at the Mall of Asia complex in Pasay City.
