The organizers of the much-anticipated pop-culture event The Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention (TOYCON PH) has announced on their Facebook page that the event has been scheduled to June 19-21.
The organizers also announced that the highly-popular event will once again occupy all three (3) halls of SM Megamall’s Megatrade Hall in Mandaluyong City, which is in contrast to what organizers previously stated that they may consider moving to a bigger location.
Prominent pop-culture blogger and TOYCON PH co-organizer Azrael Coladilla told Anime Pilipinas that they have considered the SMX Convention Center – Manila in Pasay City, but the venue for the month of June has been fully booked since last year.
When asked on how will the security of the event be planned, in light of the recent issues during the recently concluded Ozine Fest – Anime Figure Special 2014 last Weekend, Anime Alliance Philippines operations manager Michael Ramas has told Anime Pilipinas that there will be an advanced selling of entry tickets, which was done through SM Tickets since last year.
Ramas added that there will be a dedicated team that will oversee the lines, as well as additional security that will be on standby to assist from the start of the event onwards. He also says that there will be two entrances for the event, to split lines in half.
He also states that TOYCON PH open their gates “no later than 15mins than [the] scheduled [time].”
More details regarding TOYCON PH will be announced in the coming days, and we will update everyone on the latest regarding the event.
