Pan-regional anime channel ANIPLUS HD has lined-up three (3) new anime titles for the month of October, which are the comedy anime Puchimas: Petit iDOLM@STER, the romantic drama anime Diabolik Lovers as a halloween special, and this season’s simulcast title Psycho Pass 2.
PUCHIMAS! Petit iDOLM@STER
One day, idols Ami & Mami Futami bring back a little something they found on the street to the 765Pro agency. That something was “Afuu” and “Yukipo”, teeny creatures that look almost exactly like Miki Hoshii and Yukiho Hagiwara, except petit and pudgy. Although they started with one, pretty soon a barrage of “Puchidols” start flowing into the office, and things get lively.
This 64-episode two-minute short series depicts the overly hyper daily life of The Idolmaster’s 765Pro idols and the mysterious creatures known as “Puchidols” who for equally mysterious reasons, resemble the idols.
Puchimas! is a original net animation (ONA) spin-off of the popular idol franchise The iDOLM@STER, which was adapted from a four-panel manga series written and illustrated by Akane. It is being serialied on ASCII Media Works magazine Dengeki Maoh since September 2008, and currently has six (6) volumes.
The anime adaptation was directed by Mankyuu, while character designs were made by Sao Tamado, and Produced by anime studio Gathering. Due to it’s popularity, a second season was made, which was aired in Japan last April.
Puchimas! Petit iDOLM@STER premieres on Monday, October 06, airing Every Monday to Friday nights at 09:00pm SGT (08:00pm JKT).
Diabolik Lovers
Yui Komori’s father – a priest – moves abroad for work, so he sends her to live in a new town with the six Sakamaki brothers.When she arrives at their mansion, she realises that these young men are not mere humans, but blood-thirsty vampires.
They torment her psychologically and physically, often feeding off her. As she tries to accept her situation, she begins to unravel mysteries both of their pasts and her very own.
Diabolik Lovers is a Japanese anime adaptation of a visual novel franchise, created by Rejet for the Sony Playstation gaming platform. There are currently three (3) games under the franchise, and another is set to be released in 2015.
The anime adaptation was directed by Shinobu Tagashira, who worked on character designs for titles like The Law of Ueki and Is This a Zombie?, while Seiko Nagatsu, who worked on Futari wa Precure Splash Star, supervised the scripts. Yuuko Yahiro, who worked on B Gata H Kei, adapted Satoi’s original character designs. Produced by anime studio Zexcs, and has 12 episodes with one (1) OVA.
Yui Komori is played by Rie Suegara, while the six (6) Sakamaki brothers are played by Daisuke Hirakawa (Raito), Hikaru Midorikawa (Ayato), Katsuyuki Konishi (Reiji), Kousuke Toriumi (Shuu), Takashi Kondo (Subaru), and Yuuki Kaji (Kanato).
Diabolik Lovers will premiere for two days as a Halloween Special on October 31 (Friday) and November 01 (Saturday) from 12:00am to 01:30am SGT (11:00pm to 12:30am JKT). Rated 16 for Mature Themes.
Psycho-Pass 2
This series is set in the year 2113, where the Sibyl System is actively measuring a person’s mental state, personality, and the probability that a person will commit crimes, all through a “cymatic scan” of the brain. The resulting assessment is called a Psycho-Pass. When the probability of committing a crime – measured by the “Crime Coefficient” index – is too high in an individual, they are pursued and apprehended—with lethal force, if necessary.
The story centres on the team from the Crime Investigation Department of the Public Safety Bureau, who are tasked with managing crime in this world.
Psycho-Pass 2 is the second season of the popular sci-fi action anime series, which was directed by Naoyoshi Shiotani & written by Gen Urobuchi, and produced by renowned anime studio Production I.G.
Kana Hanazawa, who played roles Chiaki Kurihara (Bodacious Space Pirates) and Kobato Hasegawa (Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai), will reprise her role as Inspector Akane Tsunemori.
Psycho-Pass 2 premieres on the Same period as Japan on October 20, airing Every Monday nights at 11:25pm SGT (10:25pm JKT).
