Southeast Asian anime channel ANIPLUS Asia announced has on Sunday that the upcoming television movie special Fate/Grand Order -First Order- will premiere on the channel this New Year’s Day.

The special is set to air within 24 hours after the Japanese telecast, which will be a part of the channel’s holiday special started last Saturday, December 24.

 

The story is set in 2015 AD, in the final era when magecraft thrived. The Chaldea Security Organization was formed as a special agency tasked with monitoring a world that can’t be seen or fathomed with magic or science alone and preventing the ultimate downfall of mankind. But, all of a sudden, the future Chaldea has been monitoring disappears, and that It comes to light that mankind will go extinct in 2017.

Chaldea assumes a singularity to be the cause of human extinction and starts a mission to investigate and unravel it, or, failing that, to destroy it.

 

Fate/Grand Order -First Order- is an anime adaptation based on the popular mobile role-playing game Fate/Grand Order, which is a part of the Fate/stay Night franchise. The mobile game is developed by TYPE-MOON and launched in July 2015.

The anime special is directed by Hitoshi Nanba, who also directed Baki the Grappler and GOSICK, while Ayumi Sekine, who worked on Makura no Danshi and Uta no☆Prince-sama Revolutions, handled the scripts and theme music is performed by the legendary seiyuu & anisong singer Maaya Sakamoto.

Keisuke Goto, who worked on the character designs of Yatterman Night, adapted TYPE-MOON’s Takashi Takeuchi’s original character designs, which was produced by anime studio Lay-duce.

The Japanese voice cast are lead by Nobunaga Shimazaki (“Tsukasa Fujii”, your name.) as “Ritsuka Fujimaru” and Rie Takahashi (“Miki Naoki”, School-Live!) as “Kyrielight Mash”.

Fate/Grand Order -First Order- premieres on Sunday, January 1, at 11:00pm (10:00pm JKT/BKK), within 24 hours after the Japanese telecast.
