Terrestrial network TV5 has posted a new program schedule on their website, which shows that the highly-popular TV5 AniMEGA’s weekday block has been moved from morning to the afternoon starting Monday, April 20.

The new schedule also shows that the weekday block will air from 02:00pm to 03:45pm, right before the kids show Hi-5, effectively expanding the anime block to one hour & 45 minutes.

The new schedule will move current shows, such as Transformers: Animated and Rockman.EXE Beast, and will be joined by new additions, which are Street Fighter II V and a new anime series Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple.

Shirahama Kenichi is an average student who has earned the nickname “Weak Legs” from always getting bullied. One day he meets a cute girl named Furinji Miu, who helps him build the courage to begin training at a mysterious dojo where she lives. Here Kenichi faces intense training from masters of many different martial arts styles as he attempts to become stronger. (Synopsis from Anime News Network)

Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple, also known as “History’s Strongest Disciple Kenichi”, is an anime adaptation of a Japanese manga by Syun Matsuena, which was serialized by Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine from August 2002 to September 2014. The manga has 61 tankubon volumes.

The anime adaptation was directed by Hajime Kamekagi, who also worked on the popular drama anime Fushigi Yuugi (which is also airing on TV5 AniMEGA’s weekend morning block), and while Yoshiyuki Suga, who worked as a scriptwriter on several anime series including Slam Dunk, Yawara! and Ranma ½, handled the scripts and screenplay.

The anime series was produced by TMS Entertainment and has 50 episodes.

It is not yet known if the weekend airings of Street Fighter II V will end and will be replaced by a new show. We will give you the updates as soon as we get it.
