Southeast Asian anime channel ANIPLUS Asia has announced on Friday that the upcoming anime Vivy -Fluorite Eye’s Song- will air on a simulcast basis this Spring 2021.
The upcoming anime will premiere on April 3, which airs every Saturdays at 24:00 PHT (effectively, Sundays at 12:00am PHT), within two hours after its initial Japanese telecast. Encore telecast on Sundays at 08:30pm PHT.
Vivy -Flourite Eye’s Song- is an upcoming original anime series created by Tappei Nagatsuki and Eiji Umehara, who will also serve as its scriptwriters. Nagatsuki is the creator of the popular isekai manga series Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, while Umehara serve as a scriptwriter for its anime adaptations.
The upcoming anime series will be directed by Shinpei Ezaki, who previously worked as episode director in popular anime shows such as Attack on Titan and Space Brothers.
Yuichi Takahashi, who recently worked in the sports anime 2.43: Seiin High School Boys Volleyball Team, will handle character designs, which will be produced by WIT STUDIO.
ANIPLUS Asia described the upcoming anime’s story:
NiaLand is an A.I. theme park that blends dreams with hope and science. Vivy was created as the world’s first autonomous humanoid A.I. to work as a cast member in the theme park. She gets on stage every day to sing, but she is not very popular.
“I want my singing to bring happiness to everyone.”
Vivy continues singing in hopes of one day achieving her goal of performing on the theme park’s main stage.
One day, an A.I. who calls himself Matsumoto appears before her. Matsumoto claims to be an A.I. from one hundred years into the future, and that his mission is to rewrite history with Vivy, in order to stop a war between A.I. and humans that would happen a century later.
How will the encounter between these two A.I.s with such different missions change the course of the future?
This is a story of I(Vivy) destroying I(A.I.)…
The one-hundred-year journey of an A.I. songstress named Vivy starts now.
Atsumi Tanezaki, who portrayed “Asako Natsume” in the romantic comedy anime My Little Monster, will portray the titular character “Vivy”, while Jun Fukuyama, who is known for portraying “Koro-sensei” in the action-adventure anime Assassination Classroom, will portray “Matsumoto”.
Kairi Yagi performs the opening song “Sing My Pleasure” as the singing voice of Vivy.
Vivy -Flourite Eye’s Song- will be ANIPLUS Asia’s second simulcast anime title for the Spring 2021 season.
The anime channel previously announced the simulcast airing of CARDFIGHT!! VANGUARD overDress, is also scheduled to premiere on April 3. More titles are expected to be announced in the coming days.
The simulcast airing of mecha anime Back Arrow, which started during the Winter 2021 season, will continue in the upcoming season.
