Singapore-based anime licensor MUSE Asia has announced that they will stream the upcoming comedy anime Heaven’s Design Team this Winter 2021.
As previously reported, the company acquired the upcoming anime series as part of its programming lineup next season.
The upcoming show will premiere on January 8, streaming every Fridays at 12:00am PHT, within an hour after its initial Japanese telecast.
Heaven’s Design Team is an upcoming anime adaptation of a Japanese comedy manga series, written by Hebi-Zou and Tsuta Suzuki with illustrations by Tarako.
The manga is being published in Kodansha’s Monthly Morning Two magazine since February 2017 and currently has five volumes.
Kodansha USA, which publishes the English-translated manga in North America, describes the story:
In Heaven’s Animal Design Department, designers create a variety of new animals daily while contending with the unreasonable requests of their client: God. Funny, interesting, and full of useful information, this series answers questions such as, “Why can’t unicorns exist?”, “What makes an animal taste delicious?”, “What’s the most powerful creature in the ocean?”, and, “Bird versus snake: who would win?” You won’t believe it’s a manga series when you read up on the featured animals in the included encyclopedia entries. Heaven’s Design Team will make your next trip to the zoo or aquarium 100 times more fun!
The upcoming anime adaptation will be directed by Sochi Matsui, who previously worked in the fantasy comedy anime Chaika: The Coffin Princess, while Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches scriptwriter Michiko Yokote will handle the series composition.
Sachiko Oohashi, who previously worked in anime titles such as Oruchuban Ebichu and Macross Delta, will handle character designs, which will be produced by Asahi Production.
Japanese voice cast will be lead by Junya Enoki (“Takeru Takaishi”, Digimon Adventure tri. anime film series) as “Shimoda” and Yumi Hara (“Albedo”, Overlord anime series) as “Ueda”.
Heaven’s Design Team will be MUSE Asia’s third anime title that will be streamed on their YouTube channel on a simulcast basis this Winter 2021 season.
The company previously announced that Supposed a Kid from the Last Dungeon Boonies moved to a starter town? and the second season of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime will be streamed starting January next year.
The company also revealed that they have acquired Cells at Work! Code Black, the spinoff of the popular Cells at Work! series, which may be available through paid streaming platforms.
