Southeast Asian anime channel ANIPLUS Asia has announced on Thursday that they will simulcast the second season of The Irregular at Magic High School this Autumn 2020.
The upcoming season will premiere on October 4, airing every Sundays at 01:00am PHT, within an hour after its initial Japanese telecast.

The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor Arc is the second season of The Irregular at Magic High School anime series, which will be based on volumes 9-11 of the popular light novel series by Tsutomu Sato.
The series initially started as a self-published web novel from October 2008 to March 2011, which was serialized by Kadokawa’s ASCII Media Works from July 2011 to September this year, under their Dengeki Bunko imprint, which has a total of 32 volumes with several short-stories.
Kana Ishida joined the light novel as its illustrator.
The light novel has been adapted into several manga adaptations, which are illustrated by several artists and published in several magazines, as well as inspiring a spinoff series titled The Honor Student at Magic High School, authored by Yu Mori and started publishing in June 2013.
The novel has previously been adapted into a television anime series in April 2014, as well as a theatrical film, The Irregular at Magic High School The Movie: The Girl Who Calls the Stars, which was released in Japanese cinemas in June 2017.
The novel also inspired a sequel titled The Irregular At Magic High School Magian Company, also written by Sato and illustrated by Ishida, which is set to start this month.
The main staff of the theatrical anime film, including director Risako Yoshida, scriptwriter Munemasa Nakamoto and music composer Taku Iwasaki, will return to work on the second season, which will be produced by 8 bit.
The main voice cast from previous anime adaptations, including Yuichi Nakamura (as Tatsuya Shiba) and Saori Hayami (as Miyuki Shiba), will reprise their respective roles, where they will be joined by Yoko Hikasa (“Freya”, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) as “Angelina Kudo Shields”.
Southeast Asian anime channel ANIMAX Asia previously aired the first season of The Irregular At Magic High School in July 2015.
Singapore-based anime licensor ODEX screened The Irregular at Magic High School The Movie: The Girl Who Calls the Stars anime film in cinemas across Southeast Asia in 2017.
The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor Arc will be ANIPLUS Asia’s fifth simulcast anime title for the Autumn 2020 season, after D4DJ First Mix, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? III, HYPNOSIS MIC-Division Rap Battle- Rhyme Anima and Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World.
The anime channel is set to announce more simulcast titles in the coming days.
ANIPLUS Asia is available in the Philippines on SKYcable Channel 139 in Metro Manila, CAMANAVA, Rizal, Bulacan and Laguna, as well as select provincial cable providers around the country.
