The Ryuo’s Work is Never Done!, also known by its Japanese title “Ryuo no Oshigoto!”, is an anime adaptation of a light novel series written by Shirow Shiratori, who created the slice-of-life comedy series No-Rin, and illustrated by Shirabi.
The light novel is being published by SB Creative under its GA Bunko imprint since 2015, which currently has 13 volumes.
The anime adaptation is directed by Shinsuke Yanagi, who previously directed the comedy anime And you thought there is never a girl online?, while New Game! scriptwriter Fumihiko Shimo handled the series composition.
Akane Yano, who also worked with Yanagi on the same series, adapts Shirabi’s original character designs, which was produced by anime studio Project No. 9.
The opening theme song “Kore Kara” is sung by Machico, while the ending theme song “Mamoritai-mono no Tame ni” is sung by Miku Ito.
The Japanese voice cast are lead by Yuma Uchida (“Hayate Immelmann”, Macross Delta) as “Yaichi Kuzuryu”, and Rina Hidaka (“Enju Aihara”, Black Bullet) as “Ai Hinatsuru”.
Southeast Asian anime channel ANIMAX Asia previously aired The Ryuo’s Work is Never Done! on a simulcast basis during the Winter 2018 season.
