Haikyu!! LAND VS. AIR and THE PATH OF THE BALL are the third and fourth OVA adaptations of the popular volleyball franchise, respectively, which is based on the 22nd and 23rd volumes of the manga series.

The OVAs also served as a side-story before the premiere of the television anime’s fourth season, Haikyu!! To The Top, last January.

Haikyu!! is an anime adaptation of a Japanese sports manga series by Haruichi Furudate, which was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from February 2012 until last July, and has a total of 45 volumes.

Haikyu!! To The Top, the fourth season of the anime series, is directed by Masako Sato, who directed the slice-of-life anime Anima Yell!!, replacing long time director Susumu Mitsunaka after three seasons.

Scriptwriter Taku Kishimoto and Character designer Takahiro Kishida returned to work on the latest season, which is being produced by Production I.G.

The first part of the fourth season was aired from January to April, while the second part was initially scheduled to air this month, but was postponed to October due to production issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

MediaLink Entertainment Limited handles the distribution of the anime series in the Asia-Pacific region, and being streamed through the Chinese-owned streaming service iQIYI.

The first season of Haikyu!! was aired in Tagalog dubbing through ABS-CBN in April 2015, which was then aired on its now-defunct anime channel HEROtv in July of the same year.

The anime channel also aired the second and third seasons of the anime series in December 2016 and June 2017, respectively.
